Kathy Griffin Eugene Concert reviews
Chris Tucker needed a paycheck
During the show, I was questioning why she lacked any current topical material. Why was she discussing Michael Jackson, President Obama's first election in 2008, movies she made 10 years ago, and a BET show she hosted years ago? I guess it was fitting that Kathy Griffin began her show with a bit about her IRS issues, given that this fraud of a show was solely for Kathy Griffin's benefit. If I had known I could easily access all her comedy pieces on YouTube, I could have saved myself $180 for my wife and me.
I had never seen her comedy performances previously, so I was unaware that the vast majority of the material I witnessed on Saturday night was recycled from material in 2026, 2026, etc. The day after the show, I went online and watched word for word clips of what I had just seen the previous night, but the clips were dated from 2026! What a joke - intended pun!
It's unbelievable that any artist with self-respect could not create new material for their audience. This show was completely booked, and individuals came here to chuckle, not at an Anita Baker joke from 4 years ago or an impression of a deceased Michael Jackson, but at something fresh, new, and topical. What a pity!
I would never return to see this individual perform again, never watch her movies, and I hope the IRS delves deeper and appropriates the revenue from my tickets for a more worthwhile cause than enriching a has-been comedian.
